What is Acne? Acne is like a threat. This isn’t, however, something that can’t be addressed. Lots of products are available for acne skin care. Acne skin care products can be divided into three different categories;
* Acne skin treatment or general acne care products
* Over – the-counter acne skin care specialized products
* Acne skin care products on prescription.
The products used as acne prevention measures are the general acne skin care products. This includes make-up remover, cleansers, and similar products to prevent acne. In the real sense, these products for acne skin care are those which should be part of your daily routine anyway. Some are however more geared to acting like a product for acne skin care. These acne skin care products act against, for example, the causes of acne that limit sebum / oil production and prevent obstruction of pores. In principle, these skin care products prevent the oil from being trapped in pores and thus hinder the growth of acne-conducting bacteria. Exfoliation products such as skin peels are also included in the general skin care products. These work to remove dead cells from the skin, thus reducing the risk of pore blockages and the development of bacteria.
Specialized acne skin care products, i.e. without a prescription, are also available in general. These are products that extract extra oil from the skin, such as fade creams. Benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, both enemies of the bacteria (and therefore the acne), are the foundation for most of these products of acne skin care. Start with a product with lower benzoyl peroxide concentrations (e.g. 5 %) and see how your skin responds to it. Also popular as acne skin care products are moisturizers based on alpha hydroxy acid. Before zeroing in the acne skin care product, you might have to try some, which is effective for you. You should contact a dermatologist if nothing seems to work.
Acne skin care products are prescribed by a dermatologist on-prescription. This may include ointments that may be applied to oral antibiotics or to the affected area, or any topical treatment. Dermatologists may also suggest a small operation to remove pustules content. But never squeeze or do this alone, it can lead to permanent skin damage. A hormone-based treatment may be also prescribed by your doctor (since hormonal changes also cause acne). In some cases, products such as acne skin care are known to be extremely effective.
Therefore, it is not so difficult to treat acne with all these acne skin care products.
